$5.5 million load of pot found near Stanwood: Investigators reported that they seized a trailer loaded with $5.5 million worth of marijuana at the truck scale. It is believed to be one of the biggest busts of its kind ever in the county.
The truck was heading north on I-5 on April 21 and stopped for a safety inspection at the weigh station south of the 300th Street NW interchange east of Stanwood.
The trailer was found to have a brake problem, making it unsafe for the road. That meant it needed to be left in a parking stall at the scale overnight, Duffy said. The truck driver was apparently unwise to his load, officials said.

He’s being held in lieu of $250,000 bail, jailed on suspicion of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor, giving drugs to a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Detectives believe Garvie had an ongoing sexual relationship with a Sedro-Woolley High School student, starting when the boy was about 15 years old, court documents said.
