SNOQUALMIE PASS — The Washington Transportation Department says a rockfall about six miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass summit means just one lane of westbound Interstate 90 will be open in the area overnight.
All westbound traffic was stopped for two hours Tuesday evening so crews could assess the hillside’s stability. State officials say the rocks that fell were contained by netting on the hillside and by a roadside ditch. One rock was 12 feet tall and 6 feet wide.
