I’m hearing from gardeners that their gardens are as much as a month behind. In my garden the peonies haven’t bloomed yet and the peas I planted in February have yet to produce. Meanwhile my June bearing strawberries might be more like July bearers at the rate they’re developing. That’s got to be some kind of record.
On both sides of the mountains farmers are expecting delays in their crops, according to this AP story. One farmer notes everything is slow except the rhubarb, which is thriving in this cool, wet weather. I can second that.
