Voters in Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and the rest of the Edmonds School District will get ballots this week that include two ballot measures.
Ballots must be returned by mail with a postmark on or before Election Day, Feb. 11, or left in a 24-hour drop box in Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett or other sites around Snohomish County by 8 p.m. Election Day.
There is no voters’ pamphlet for the special election.
Here are the two measures that will be on South Snohomish County ballots:

Proposition No. 1
Replacement School Programs and Operations Levy
The Board of Directors of Edmonds School District No. 15, serving the communities of Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway, and unincorporated Snohomish County, adopted Resolution No. 13-26, concerning a proposition to finance school programs and operations. This proposition would authorize the District to replace an expiring levy and to levy the following excess taxes upon all taxable property within the District, for support of the District’s General Fund program and operation expenses:

Capital Improvement and School Construction General Obligation Bonds – $275,000,000
The Board of Directors of Edmonds School District No. 15, adopted Resolution No. 13-35, concerning a proposition to finance capital improvements to its facilities. This proposition would authorize the District to improve safety, heating/ventilation, roofing, energy efficiency and other capital improvements; reduce class size grades 1-6, various schools; add classrooms for full-day kindergarten; modernize Spruce, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace elementaries; add classroom capacity at Edmonds-Woodway; replace Alderwood Middle, Lynndale and Madrona; relocate Maintenance/Transportation/Warehouse facility; issue $275,000,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 21 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to pay such bonds, as provided in Resolution No. 13-35.
