The “Gray Wolves” of Electronic Attack Squadron 142 will return to Whidbey Island Na
val Air Station Friday after a six-month deployment to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan.
The squadron of EA-6B Prowlers left Whidbey Island early in October. The Gray Wolves, which include Navy and Air Force fliers, participated in the humanitarian relief effort after the Dec. 26 tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean and flew 343 missions during the deployment.
The squadron also participated in a joint military exercise with Japanese forces.
Also coming home with the squadron are 30 members of the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment.
