PORTLAND, Ore. — A wildfire on the west side of Crater Lake National Park has forced forestry officials to shut down a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reported that the fire, which has burned nearly 50 acres since it was discovered Thursday, has closed the trail but not the entire park.
U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Lisa Swinney says investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
