GRANITE FALLS — Firefighters were working on two wildfires Monday near Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.
One blaze was near Granite Falls in the Canyon Creek area. The other was near Oso, on Wheeler Mountain.
The former has been called the Quarry Fire. It started Sunday morning and was burning about 10 acres Monday, said Janet Pearce, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Natural Resources.
No buildings were in danger, she said.
The fire on Wheeler Mountain started around 8 p.m. Sunday. It was about 2 acres in size Monday afternoon.
“It hasn’t been growing, so that’s good news,” Pearce said.
The causes of the blazes were under investigation.
