EVERETT — Police are investigating the shooting of an Everett woman early Saturday morning.
Everett Police Department’s major crimes unit is seeking witnesses to the shooting, which sent an Everett woman, 56, to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police were called to the 2200 block of Fulton Street about 3:10 a.m. Saturday, said Police Lt. Robert Goetz in a statement from the department.
When they arrived they found the woman conscious and alert with what appeared to be three gunshot wounds. She told officers she was lying on her couch when she heard what she thought were fireworks outside. When she got up to look, she discovered that she had been shot, Goetz said.
The woman was treated by Everett Fire Department personnel before being taken to the Colby campus of Providence Everett Medical Center. Her condition Sunday was unknown, but it was believed her injuries were not life-threatening, Goetz said.
Since the shooting, investigators have talked with several people about the incident. No cause for any arrest has been established. Officers found several bullet holes in the home, however police do not know how many rounds were fired.
No one else was known to have been injured in the shooting.
