SEATTLE — A young woman fatally wounded as she and friends were leaving a weekend party in south Seattle has been identified as an adventurous 21-year-old who planned to move to Hawaii in the fall.
Friend Victoria Wilson said Sherry Soth was shot in the abdomen early Sunday and died during surgery at Harborview Medical Center. Friends and relatives gathered Monday night in a vigil for her.
Five other young people were wounded when shots were fired as the party was breaking up. The Seattle Times said all are expected to recover.
Police have said they are looking for two or more shooters but have not released details about their possible identities or reasons for the gunfire.
