KENNEWICK — Kennewick Police Cmdr. Scott Child knew something wasn’t right when he looked out the police station window and saw a confrontation between a woman and a man in the parking lot across from City Hall.
He and two other officers rushed outside Wednesday as the woman escaped inside and said the man had attempted to sexually assault her. She was not hurt.
KEPR-TV reported officers arrested a 30-year-old homeless man and jailed him for investigation of attempted rape. He has a criminal record and also is suspected of another attempted rape a few days earlier in a grocery store parking lot.
