LYNNWOOD – A woman hit by a bus while trying to cross seven lanes of traffic on Highway 99 was in serious condition Thursday at Haborview Medical Center in Seattle, police said.
The woman, 62, was not in a crosswalk and was struck as she ran across the highway Wednesday afternoon, said Lynnwood police Sgt. Jon Grabinski. The accident happened in the 17600 block of Highway 99.
The woman suffered multiple injuries and is in intensive care, but is expected to survive, Grabinski said.
Wood chip truck tips: A truck carrying a load of wood chips overturned Thursday afternoon, blocking the exit from I-5 to Highway 525 for several hours, according to the Washington State Patrol.
No one was injured in the crash, said trooper Lance Ramsay. The accident was reported at 2:30 p.m.
