Woman dies, toddler missing in eastern Washington fire

ELK — Firefighters in the small town of Elk about 25 miles north of Spokane said a fire in a motor home killed a woman Saturday afternoon. Firefighters also believe the woman’s 18-month-old son died, but his remains were not immediately found.

The name of the 23-year-old woman was not immediately released.

The cause of the fire that destroyed the 30-foot motor home and a nearby barn is not yet known.
