Woman fatally shot at home near Everett

EVERETT — A woman’s fatal shooting early Wednesday is being investigated as a homicide.

Neighbors heard gunshots at 2 a.m. coming from a home in the 3100 block of York Road, just south of Everett, said Shari Ireton, a spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Inside, deputies found a dead woman in her 20s. She had been shot. Another woman and three children were inside too. They had no injuries.

Hours later detectives hadn’t identified a suspect.

Investigators were working to obtain a search warrant to let them go back inside in the afternoon, Ireton said. Meanwhile they gathered as much evidence as possible outside.

Streets near the crime scene were shut down for hours.
