EVERETT – A young woman crossing I-5 on foot Sunday night died after being hit by two cars.
Washington State Patrol troopers about 8:40 p.m. received reports that a woman was crossing northbound I-5 at Highway 526, trooper Brandon Lee said.
Within minutes troopers got another report that the woman had been hit by one car and then run over by another, Lee said.
Medics performed CPR but the woman did not survive, Lee said.
The woman was in her early to mid-20s, Lee said. Investigators didn’t know Sunday night who she was or why she tried crossing the freeway.
The carpool and left lanes were closed while police investigated.
