COUPEVILLE — A 37-year-old Tacoma woman was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when the motorcycle on which she was riding left the road on Highway 20 in Coupeville, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The woman was flown by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where her condition was being evaluated Sunday evening.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old Silverdale man, also was injured and was taken to Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville.
The two were traveling south near Arnold Road about 2:20 p.m. when the driver failed to follow a curve and went straight off the road into a culvert, according to the State Patrol.
The accident was caused by driver inattention, according to a State Patrol memo.
