SEATTLE — A 28-year-old woman accused of sexually assaulting a sleeping man pleaded not guilty Thursday in Seattle to a charge of second-degree rape.
Chantae Marie Gilman remains jailed with bail set at $100,000.
Charging papers say a man who is now 31 awoke in his bed in June 2013 to find Gilman on top of him, having sex and pinning his hands over his head. He was able to push her out of his home. The man told police he recognized her as a drug user in the south Seattle neighborhood.
The Seattle Times reports he had a sex assault examination at a hospital. DNA matched Gilman.
Gilman told police she did not recall being in the man’s home or having sex with him.
