NAPAVINE — A National Weather Service meteorologist says a southwest Washington woman near Napavine reports seeing a small tornado on Friday afternoon.
Meteorologist Chris Burke in Seattle says the woman reported some damage to her outbuildings and trees. He says a neighbor also reported damage but didn’t see the twister. No one was injured.
Burke says he finds the report credible — there were reports of hail and thunderstorms nearby. He says the Weather Service may send a survey team to take a look, but that probably won’t happen until next week.
He declined to identify the woman who saw the funnel cloud touch down.
