Woman’s body found in Greenbank; man arrested

COUPEVILLE — A woman’s body was found wrapped in a tarp behind her home on Silver Cloud Lane in Greenbank on Saturday morning, the victim of an apparent homicide.

The woman was identified as Kathie Ann Baker, 53.

The Island County Sheriff’s Office said that she died of blunt force trauma and had been strangled. She had been dead for several days when her body was discovered.

A 61-year-old man has been booked into the Island County Jail in connection with the investigation.

He is scheduled for a court appearance Monday.
