MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — A Kenmore woman is under investigation for drunken driving after allegedly causing a three-vehicle accident Saturday.
She also might have some explaining to do at home.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash was a pickup driven by her husband.
The accident occurred shortly before noon Saturday in the 21800 block of 60th Avenue W., according to Mountlake Terrace Police Department reports.
A witness told police that the woman, 34, pulled her 2007 Ford Explorer over to the side of the road before abruptly making a U-turn.
Her husband, 33, was driving behind her. He could not stop his 2002 Ford pickup in time to avoid the crash, Mountlake Terrace police Cmdr. Doug Hansen said.
The man tried to swerve away, but ended up hitting her vehicle, which was pushed into a third car.
The woman was taken to Swedish-Edmonds Hospital to be evaluated for possible head and abdominal injuries.
A blood sample was taken and police are waiting for lab results, Hansen said.
The woman told police she had been drinking wine at home before the accident, but didn’t think it affected her driving.
Her daughter, 7, was a passenger and was not injured.
Both the woman’s car and her husband’s pickup had to be towed away, Hansen said.
