EVERETT — A wood chip fire Sunday morning sent plumes and the smell of smoke wafting across north Everett and parts of Marysville.
The fire at Cedar Grove Composting off of Highway 529 between Everett and Marysville billowed smoke visible from I-5, according to the Everett Fire Department.
The company had crews breaking up the wood chip pile and dousing it with water, but the pile could smolder and smoke for much of the day, according to the Everett Fire Department.
People affected by smoke should keep their windows closed.
