EVERETT — This week Public Works crews plan to start replacing a section of the Interurban Trail north of its intersection with Alta Drive, just west of Lowell Elementary School.
The current trail is on an unstable slope and continually needs repairs. City of Everett crews will move approximately 1,000 feet of trail 30 to 45 feet west to more stable ground. The work should be completed by mid-October.
During construction, there will be equipment noise and occasional trail closures as they clear, grade and pave the new segment of trail. Detour routes will be posted during closures.
The repair work is a joint project among Snohomish County, the cities of Everett and Lynnwood and the Snohomish County Public Utility District.
