SNOHOMISH — Kitty Jones teaches women how to heal from trauma.
Jones, a registered counselor, designed her workshop from the experiences of her own life. Jones, of Snohomish, tells her story of being abused and neglected as a child. As a young woman, she said, she relied on her faith in God, and with her own hard work and determination, found ways to restore her life.
Along with dealing with the emotional trauma came the passion to teach other women struggling with emotional scars to move forward. Beginning in 1980, Jones developed and led women’s groups.
Recently, she completed a book that identifies 21 issues common to women suffering from abuse. With a passion for teaching, Jones addresses each of those issues in her workshops.
Registration is required. Space is limited.
Workshops are 7 to 9 p.m. April 8 and 10. Each workshop runs eights weeks and will be at the Carnegie Building, 105 Cedar Ave., Snohomish.
