PULLMAN — Washington State University is combining some of its existing medical programs into a new College of Medical Sciences.
That decision was approved Friday by the WSU Board of Regents.
The College of Medical Sciences will bring together the faculty of the WWAMI medical education program and the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences in Spokane.
Washington State is also continuing to study whether to create its own medical school.
The board also approved WSU’s Strategic Plan for the next five years, intended to position the school as “one of the nation’s leading land-grant universities.”
