MARYSVILLE – Three boys have been arrested in connection with a recent string of burglaries at local schools and a baseball concession stand in Marysville.
A fourth boy also is believed to be part of the group but was not arrested.
Police found the four boys hiding in a white pickup about 1:30 a.m. Monday while investigating a silent alarm at Marysville Junior High School at 1607 Seventh St.
The boys sped off when officers attempted to talk with them. Police chased the teens until the boys bailed out of the truck and ran.
A police dog found two of the boys hiding on nearby rooftops.
Detectives spoke with one of the boys’ father, who indicated a third boy was asleep in his son’s bed. Police identified the fourth boy, who provided more information and stolen property.
Investigators recovered additional evidence and property that allegedly linked the boys to last week’s burglaries at Marysville Middle School, Marysville-Pilchuck High School and the Marysville Little League concession stand at Asbury Field.
Sports and computer equipment, yearbooks, food and audiovisual equipment were reportedly stolen from the locations.
Police have recovered at least $2,000 in stolen property, Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said.
One boy was booked into the Denny Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of second-degree burglary. The others were released.
All four boys will be referred to the prosecutor’s office for burglary charges, police said.
