SEATTLE — A 24-year-old homeless man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in the restroom of a Seattle car dealership.
Christopher Edward Teel is being held without bail at King County Jail on investigation of rape, assault and unlawful imprisonment.
A probable cause statement says a 40-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the woman’s restroom at the dealership’s temporary facilities Monday morning. The man forced his way into the stall, chocked her and dragged her out.
She screamed for help. A dealership employee heard the struggle and with another worker tried to enter the restroom. The victim was later able to unlock the door and the employees restrained the man until police arrived.
The statement says Teel is currently homeless.
Court records show Teel was arrested by Seattle officers in 2016 for criminal trespassing. He failed to show for an intake hearing in March 2017 and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest at that time.
