SPOKANE — A lawsuit claims Washington state social workers failed to remove three children from a home where they were physically and sexually abused.
The Spokesman-Review reported that the suit filed this week in Spokane County Superior Court claims workers failed several times to intervene despite receiving multiple reports of abuse.
The suit says the 7-year-old girl and 3- and 5-year-old boys were removed after deputies raided the Spokane Valley home of Taliferro Williams, 42, on an unrelated criminal case in July 2016.
Authorities found the children with multiple injuries.
State Department of Children, Youth and Families spokeswoman Debra Johnson declined to comment, citing the pending litigation.
The newspaper was unable to reach Williams for comment.
Prosecutors have not charged Williams on any abuse allegations.=
