TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma police have arrested a man who they say raped multiple women at knifepoint after offering them rides in his in SUV.
The News Tribune reported the 38-year-old Lacey man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of four counts of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree robbery.
A 32-year-old woman told police Saturday that she was sexually assaulted and her purse and cellphone were stolen after entering a man’s beige SUV. Her description of the encounter matched four other assaults reported in the area since early August.
Police said the woman activated her phone-tracking app. Police were able to identify the suspect and arrest him. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail.
Police said there could be additional victims who have not come forward.
