Teacher in Sequim settles discrimination suit

Suit says an official inserted a personnel document accusing her of “pedophilic behavior.”

SEQUIM — A middle school teacher has settled her sexual orientation discrimination lawsuit against a Washington state school district.

The Peninsula Daily News reported Sunday that Autumn St. George has settled her 2018 federal suit against the Sequim School District and three employees.

St. George is still employed by the district.

Her suit says an official inserted a personnel document accusing her of “pedophilic behavior” and that she suffered harassment beginning in 2015 including lewd remarks and “bullying and intimidating” by staff members regarding her sexual orientation.

District officials and attorneys for both sides say terms of the agreement including possible monetary damages will not be made public under a nondisclosure agreement.

The district did not acknowledge any wrongdoing as part of the agreement.
