TACOMA — A train hit a car in Tacoma early Tuesday, killing the driver.
The News Tribune reports that the collision took place just before 3 a.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Avenue and Milwaukee Way.
Police say the driver, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no passengers in the car.
Officials diverted traffic and the area was expected to remain closed during the morning commute.
It was not immediately clear why the car was on the train tracks.
There are no flashing lights or railroad crossing arm at that spot.
