SPOKANE — After a long wait, President Donald Trump has nominated a candidate for U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington.
Trump on Friday nominated William Hyslop to again become the top federal prosecutor for all of Washington east of the Cascade Range.
The Spokesman-Review reports that Hyslop previously held the same job from 1991-93 after he was nominated by President George H.W. Bush.
The 68-year-old Hyslop has practiced law in the Spokane area for 39 years.
Hyslop’s nomination comes well into Trump’s third year in office.
While the nomination is in, the wait for confirmation now begins.
He will replace Joseph Harrington, who became Acting U.S. Attorney in March 2017.
