BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — A person was rescued and another is missing after a small plane crashed in Puget Sound, off Bainbridge Island.
Two people were aboard the small plane, a Cessna 150. The plane sank after crashing Sunday near Eagle Harbor just after 5 p.m.
The U.S. Coast Guard said Sunday night that a female was rescued and a man is missing.
They were searching for the second victim. He is reportedly a man in his 70s.
As many as 30 people jumped into boats to go to the scene of the crash to help.
A good Samaritan brought a woman in her 60s to shore. She was later taken to Harborview Medical Center, where she was in critical condition Sunday night.
The National Transportation Board says it will investigate the crash.
