I just read the article about the three teens charged as adults in the slaying of Jerry Heimann. Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Charles French is quoted as saying the community would be better served if the 13-year-old boy’s case remains in the juvenile court system. How? The article says the 13-year-old only agreed to assault the man, and delivered a “handful” of blows. Just what is a “handful” of blows, and because they were a “handful,” were they any less hurtful to Jerry Heimann? I fail to see the logic behind the decision by Judge French.
