I support Rep. Mark Harmsworth for 44th Legislative District representative. Why? Because he listens to his constituents and works for the people exposing waste and bad bills in Olympia. I have spoken to Mark in his office about the seriousness of the state’s failing transportation system as well as the need to respect the will of the voters. Mark is not just a party-line representative but analyzes bills and makes sure he understands the implications of enacting laws. He has business experience and has the ability to see the long-term needs of Washington state.
With all this, I was total confused by the recent Herald endorsement of Mark’s opponent who has no real-life experience and apparently thought that serving one year (well, almost a year) qualifies him to jump right into the Legislature. The Herald said that Mark’s opponent would consider some form of property tax relief. Yet, the Seattle Times has endorsed Mark Harmsworth as the candidate to re-elect in the 44th LD and has labeled Mark’s opponent as a party-line person.
Rep. Harmsworth has a proven record and has voiced opinions against both parties. Mark is a voice for the people of the 44th District as well those all over the state. I-405 tolling is a mess and the expansion discussion for the U.S. 2 trestle, which is real, not made up, like the Herald seemed to indicate will hurt hard working families in their commute.
Last month, my husband and I moved to Arizona and will be selling our house in the 44th LD. Arizona has traffic problems, but they have planned alternatives, not like the congestion disaster of the Puget Sound
Vote to re-elect Mark Harmsworth.
