When voters review the state voters pamphlet, please keep in mind that in the 44th Legislative District, John Lovick and April Berg voted in favor of the income tax on wages to support a very poorly drafted bill which will tax wage earners .58 cents of every $100 of gross pay. The supposed purpose of the bill is to support seniors with long-term care expenses for up to a maximum $36,500. There are many problems with the bill but two stand out.
First, John Lovick says it’s like Social Security and is a premium for coverage. No, it’s an income tax. Second, the tax starts out at .58 cents per $100 of income, but knowing how poorly our state government runs programs, the tax will increase ad infinitum. Vote against both candidates and stop income taxes.
