50th class reunion was the best one ever

Many thanks to my fellow classmates who worked so long and tirelessly to make our 50th reunion the best ever.

It was so good to renew old friendships and see those who were no longer living in the Everett area. It was a happy time, but also a sad one, remembering some 70 classmates who have passed away since those golden days of our youth.

On one of our evenings together we were led in a rousing E.H.S. cheer by three of our cheerleaders, Pat (Luce) Crawford, Mike Jordan, and Claire (Steincipher) Sneed. Having several grandsons participating in high school sports, and being an avid fan, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the “Then and Now” style of dress and cheerleading. Boy, were we boring.

For me, the best part of our three days of activities was a tour of the “Hallowed Halls” of E.H.S., followed by a slide show of Everett at the time we were teenagers, given by Jack O’Donnell, Everett Historian. I miss the dime stores, the movie theaters, the “Grand Leader,” the Spudnut Shop, and Picardy’s where we could get the best chocolate coke in town. Those truly were the “good old days.” God willing we will meet again at our 55th.
