What to do next? Our Congress is inane, corrupt and filled with toadies. Our Supreme Court is dominated by hacks and cranks who wear lampshades for hats. Our president is simply feckless. Our economy is in the toilet. We visit ruin on our little blue dot. A dreary list.
I think we need a Lord Protector like Oliver Cromwell. This person (who would have to be a true mensch) would replace our malfunctioning three branches and govern by decree for a period of two years. Six months before the Lord Protector’s term expires, campaign season would open and we’d elect new, fresh faces to repopulate the government.
We could do worse.
