Hats off to County Executive Aaron Reardon for his goal to implement changes to create a growing economy and efficient and accountable government for Snohomish County. I especially like his Citizens Cabinet which has an intended goal of creating a county climate that would foster the creation of, and maintaining of, good paying family wage jobs.
I read the list of his appointees to the Citizens Cabinet and was left with one nagging question. If Executive Reardon wans to create good family wage jobs and to maintain the ones that are currently in Snohomish County, wouldn’t it make sense to appoint at least one person from organized labor? The Snohomish County Labor Council and its delegates represent the largest segment of family wage jobs in the county. Couldn’t Executive Reardon appoint at least one member, out of the 15, to represent the working men and women of this county? One person to represent those who pay more than their fair share of county taxes?
