My husband and I moved here from Puyallup last year. In October, we discovered the Everett Senior Center. While the staff are efficient (Ralph Mackey, Karen McGhghy, Jerry Hebert, Kathy Brownell, JoAnne Emery, Jim Rowell and Barry Van Der Meersche), what impresses us is they are always willing to share a joke or smile, even when they’re very busy and understaffed.
Their level of patience is incredible. The center offers classes, trips, bingo, books, etc. and a great lunch served daily. Seven weeks ago we enrolled in an 8:45 a.m. senior fitness class at the center, taught by Vicki Venolia. We have more energy, and our posture has improved. She is a real diamond shining each morning for us. Many volunteers give hundreds of hours of their time and talent each year, because this is a very special place. We are grateful for this center and want to thank everyone involved in its operation.
