A parallel seen to McCarthy hearings

Back in the ‘50s when I was in the Navy, some of us would gather in the operations “shack” at Navy’s Mayport landing field in Jacksonville, Florida, to listen to the Army-McCarthy hearings going on in the Senate.

At that time I ran across a letter in Time magazine that seems to have something of a parallel with today’s FBI-Trump controversy. The Time letter writer said, “History has been repeated; for the first time since Sampson fought the Philistines, an army has been defeated by the jaw bone of an ass.”
