A shame it isn’t already built

I’ve seen articles and letters to the editor regarding shooting ranges and the fact that we do not have a place to shoot around here. When I lived in Sultan 20 years ago I had a friend named Dwight Hanson and we went all over the place talking about developing a range to shoot in.

We had a place up on the Sultan Basin Road and from what I remember it was earmarked for a range. It would have been a 100-yard rifle range and a 50-yard pistol range with a shotgun skeet range and possible archery range.

I don’t know why this range is taking so long to develop. I had hoped the old Sultan Sportsman’s Club could have finished this work and named it for Dwight Hanson — since he pushed so hard for it.
