Abortions small aspect of clinics

In response to the Wednesday letter, “GOP shamefully caves on abortion”:

I respect the writer’s opinion and his right to express it. However, I find fault in his assumption that Planned Parenthood is simply an abortion clinic disguising itself as a women’s health center.

Only about 3 percent of all appointments and services offered at PP are abortions. Women who can’t afford health care, or don’t have enough coverage, go to PP for prenatal care, counseling, contraceptives, even regular doctor appointments. PP is a blessing to poor and underprivileged women around the country.

President Obama was right in refusing to yield on this issue.
