Ashley Meyer’s condemnation of me (“Israel lobby debate: Second column was discriminatory,” Nov. 20) for “compromising the multicultural values of the country” is an example of “talk is cheap.” Actions speak louder than words.
A few examples: I was a member of the Bremerton NAACP chapter for many years and editor, writer, and publisher of what was then The Bremerton NAACP Credit Union’s monthly newsletter. Also, as a federal employee, I was a certified equal employment opportunity counselor representing women and minorities in their on-the-job complaints. I also served as the sole male member of an EEO-sponsored women’s committee.
For a lesson in multiculturalism, look to the Netherlands, where it has apparently been carried too far, resulting in sad consequences.
