I am truly disgusted with all the drug addicts in the downtown Everett area. I had not been to north Everett in five or six years, even though I live in south Everett, because every time I do, I get hassled or threatened by some drunk or drug addict.
On July 12, I went to a meeting at the Red Cross building on Lombard Avenue. The only way into the parking lot was through the alley. A brown van came in the other way, so I pulled over to let him by. It appeared the person was going to park behind one of the houses, so I backed up to give him room. The individual then raised a finger at me, which I took to mean “just one moment.” He then backed out fast and came up along my car. He was obviously doped up, and began ranting and threatening me for “sleeping with his wife” and saying how his friends were going to settle the problem. The man, a white male with a goatee and broken front teeth, said he had seen me at his house at least 15 times. The truth be known, I haven’t even dated anyone for several years.
I managed to get a partial license plate and reported this to the police, as well as the address that the individual appeared to be pulling into. But I doubt anything can really be done about it.
I just hope I do not have to venture into north Everett anytime soon. Other people might want to rethink venturing there alone. This incident happened at 10 a.m., not in the middle of the night – just one more of the many reasons I am disgusted at just how far north Everett has gone downhill.
