I want to share something about Shannon Affholter, who is running for a seat on the Everett City Council. I know him, I know his family, I know that he is a man of great integrity and he will work hard for our community.
Almost every one of Shannon’s neighbors are showing their support for him by displaying a yard sign. Think about that for a second. I happen to live on a block that is pretty close, the neighbors help one another, we have an annual block party, even our baby-sitter lives on our block.
Although we get along very well, we all have very different views on many of the “hot” topics that face our society. It is very rare to see the same election yard sign on more than a few homes in a block because of these differing views of opinion. So when I saw that almost everyone on Shannon Affholter’s block is supporting him, I wanted to let everyone know. To make a difference in our city, we need to first be able to make a difference in our backyards, and by the show of support in Shannon’s backyard, I believe he will be the one to make a difference for our city.
