Last August, my nephew was murdered. When we first received the call from the detective in the case, he confirmed that it was him and that we needed to contact a funeral home to have his body picked up from the Medical Examiner’s office.
Our family has never been through anything like this and did not know what to do. The Medical Examiner told us about “Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims.” I am here to tell you I don’t know what I would have done if it were not for Kameon and Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims.
They have explained all the legal steps and processes that we have to go through, and they are there for support during court and whenever we need someone to talk to. I would like to get the word out to the public that there are support groups that help families during difficult and trying times.
