A few generations from now, grandparents will be telling their grandkids (insert crotchety old voice here), “Back in my day, e-mailing our friends meant we had to type. And not every child was issued an iPod at birth. And we weren’t allowed to write essays in the text-message talk ya younguns use.”
Are you up to date on tech fads? See if you can pick the fake story from among the real:
A. In Japan, robots that look like modern art offer a relaxing treat. The devices roll small spheres over people’s faces to give them a therapeutic massage.
B. Always losing things? A new PDA, the Previo, has the answer. In addition to the usual PDA functions, the device has sensors that can be attached to items such as keys, purses, cell phones and remote controls.
C. Can’t afford a personal trainer? Try this new cell phone. It can keep track of body fat, record the speed of your run and even tell you when you need a breath mint. Oh, and it also offers pep talks.
Answer: B. Sadly, this help for the absent-minded has not been invented yet. Or if it has, we’ve already managed to lose it. But that robot and cell phone? They’re real.
