I am really amazed that there are still so many who deny climate change. Just about all scientists who study climate agree that it is a fact. The pope, who is a very well educated man, also agrees. I also don’t believe that doing something about global warming would hurt the economy very much. I have been a union ironworker since 1966 and I spent more than five years working on coal-powered power plants. When that work slowed down I worked mostly in big cities but I did always work, with or without coal. I know people who traveled to China and they said you just can’t believe how terrible the air quality is in a good part of that country. That is caused mostly by coal power. I think changing to renewable power sources will put a lot of people to work. I heard one fellow say that when we changed from steam power to the internal combustion motor, it wasn’t because we ran out of steam. It was obviously because the new way was better.
