Alive, well but not feeling very lucky

A major problem consumers face is auto insurance fraud and it’s our own fault. The insurance companies are allowed to make all the rules and charge us a premium to pay the people that make the rules and are there to help when an accident does occur.

Let me tell you from my experience on Aug. 13, which happens to coincide with the Everett/Marysville roadwork. Isn’t that a surprise? I was hit by an outraged driver who disregarded a stop sign and broadsided me and threw me into oncoming traffic where, of course, I collided with another vehicle moving in the opposite direction. My car was totaled in the accident. Never having ever had an experience of this nature I am finding out why it’s the American way to retain an attorney. I don’t feel I have a choice if I want my life back, to some extent, close to normal and a car to drive. It does a lot more than ruin your day and your self-esteem – now that I am being regarded by the insurance companies, mine and the at-fault drivers, as the enemy. My life will be in total chaos at least for the next three months and it could last for three years or longer. I’m lucky, they are telling me I only have a head injury. I’m glad I’m alive, but I’m not feeling lucky.
