What should be one of Everett’s most attractive roads – Mukilteo Boulevard through Forest Park – is actually one of the filthiest. Walk or bicycle through the park to see the piles of broken beer bottles, smashed glass and discarded trash that line the street. One motorist even tossed an entire case of empty bottles to smash on the shoulder.
The All-America City’s cleaning crews would have to sweep every other day to keep up with the almost daily thoughtlessness of the littering drivers.
What happened to the “Adopt a Street” program? Or posting and enforcing fines for littering? How about requiring those who are caught littering to sweep the streets each week? The city should address this annoying and potentially dangerous problem.
