Monsters live among us — mindless, gutless monsters. Monsters seemingly without soul or conscience. Monsters who take their anger and frustrations out on helpless and defenseless children.
In Thursday’s Herald there were three accounts of babies who were tortured and broken by these monsters (called “parents”). Twins with injured brains, a baby’s legs broken and another baby used as a battering ram by his own mother.
Last May my daughter and son-in-law had a beautiful baby boy. He was born at 24 weeks, much too early. He lived for 10 days on machines and tubes, then he went to be with the Lord. The pain of losing a child is unbearable for loving parents, and when I see what some parents, who are so privileged to have babies, do to their children it is beyond belief.
My kids would have given their lives for their baby; he was a precious dream waiting to happen. Instead they only have the memory of a tiny boy, who couldn’t be held or cuddled or even cry (because of the ventilator in his throat keeping him breathing). This baby would have had a life of love and protection — as all children should have.
Its beyond my comprehension how some people are given the precious gifts of children and in their depraved and sick actions they destroy them.
My kids now only have the memories of a tiny baby in an incubator and a pile of doctor, hospital and cemetery bills to remind them of what they do not have.
Please, people — if you have so much anger and frustration in your life, get medical help before you have children.
